The Shelter of Community

This sculpture represents our individual dwelling, a nest, within a sphere, which represents the whole of community. It's anchored into a basalt column, which is a foundation of our geology here in the Northwest. The sphere is 2’x2’, and the column is 20”x 3’ – materials are rebar, copper, semi-precious stones, basalt column. This piece is in response to a call from Fall City Arts for sculpture that represents community, and was selected to be part of their 2008 Sculpture Walk. It is on permanent display at the SE corner of the Fall City Roadhouse and Fall City Inn, 4200 Preston Fall City RD SE, Fall City WA 98024.   Map It
